Top European Christmas Markets To Visit This Year

While you may not want to accept that Christmas is on the way just yet, the nights are starting to draw in and it’s getting colder. Planning ahead for a festive getaway is a good idea, especially as you may want to book executive airport transfers in Gloucestershire once you’ve organised your flights.

There are some great deals on flights to some of Europe’s most stunning cities and they’re particularly beautiful during the festive season.

Get Reading has put together a list of the best places to visit this year if you want to enjoy a winter wonderland.

At the top is Berlin, which will be hosting around 40 Christmas markets this winter, ranging from the elegant stalls at Gendarmenmarkt to the exciting Winter World on Potsdamer Platz that is set to boast Europe’s biggest toboggan run.

Germany’s Dresden also made the list, with the newspaper noting that the city hosts the country’s oldest Christmas market, dating all the way back to 1434.

The Old Town in Prague is another top spot if you’re looking for some festive cheer, with the stunning architecture complemented by a huge Christmas tree and a range of stalls selling all kinds of tasty treats and beautiful crafts.

Also on the list were Paris, Verona and Brussels, while Austria’s Innsbruck is worth a visit too, the newspaper noted.

Of course, you don’t have to head to Europe for stunning Christmas markets, there are plenty of great ones here in the UK too. One of the largest and most famous is hosted in Manchester each year, which will return on 10 November and be open until 20 December.
